The Priory Theatre is a self funding theatre that is run by its members for the benefit of the local community. It is a member of the Little Theatre Guild of Great Britain, and registered as a charity. The Patron is Dave Willetts who appeared in productions at the Priory before turning professional and going on to star in productions such as Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables.
There is a thriving Youth Theatre, and the theatre has an extensive range of costumes and props available to hire. The theatre has links with many charitable organisations in the area that regularly book performances at special rates to raise funds for their organisation.
