The Baraset takes a dose of all that was good about its former self, Pimlico's (and it WAS good) - and trebles it. This is a grown-up, fabulously atmospheric piece of dining history in the making with a provenance, in Paul Hales and Paul Salisbury, that ensure we should expect no less. The Victorian Garden delivers a plethora of freshness that puts paid to the spin of many an alternative that they "seek only the freshest ingredient" - these are quite literally straight from the garden (with not a little magic thrown in the kitchen between them of course). The prices too are surprisingly modest with an always more than exciting set menu providing an alternative to the scintillating a la carte alternatives stretching from Lobster to game. The conservatory bar is a perfect haunt for pre-dinner drinks and is stylishly modern as you would expect - this is distinctly a barn conversion, not a barn. Add the mix of offerings ranging from steak and duck to foie gras and mussels to the quality and atmosphere and you could just have the perfect restaurant. Brilliant, no less.
