History of the Awards

The Godiva Awards evolved from the original and much-loved Coventry and Warwickshire Promotions Member Awards of the 1990's - and the tradition of recognising the contribution of our Membership to the region is powerfully carried forward into the much expanded Godiva Awards of today.

Now in their seventh year, the awards have certainly made their mark on Coventry and Warwickshire businesses across all sectors.

2010 marks the first year that businesses can enter the same award that they may have won in the previous year. It's also the first year you can access the site on your mobile handset.

Sculpting a Legend

The idea for an award to celebrate Coventry and Warwickshire needed an image and brand as powerful and inspirational as the city and region it would represent. George Wagstaffe, one of the finest sculptors in Europe, was commissioned to create and sculpt several bronze statues representing Godiva in the 21st Century.
